52nd Grammy Awards Show

Newspapers, blogs..., even those that are not fashion oriented, are a-buzz buzz about Lady Gaga's costumes last night at the red carpet and Grammy Awards show. She dressed exclusively in Giorgio Armani Privé encrusted with Swarovski crystals, Alexander McQueen shoes.

I always said that if you are in show business as long as they are talking about you the next day you win.

I think I would have been a little bit peeved if I would have sat behind this number.

Other notables

Beyoncé in sculptural Stephane Rolland

Katy Perry wearing Zac Posen

Rihanna in Elie Saab

Taylor Swift beautiful in Kaufman Franco

Here is another angle because that frontal shot makes her look like she is expecting.

Nicole Kidman & hubby Keith Urban both in Prada.

Heidi Klum in Pucci with handsome hubby Seal

Keri Hilson in a pink champagne Dolce & Gabbana mermaid gown

Ciara in Givenchy

Britney Spears attempted a similar effect in this Dolce & Gabbana but Im afraid she failed. It was just unflattering.

Fergie in Pucci

Jersey Shore Reality TV celeb Nicole "Snooki"

Sorry Snooks, I'm all for celebrating the body of a real woman but when you have the shape of an eggplant you should avoid tight clothing.

And because you are still young and I dont believe in criticizing without offering constructive advice; first of all I would not wear shiny fabrics but if you must - a few from Diane Von Furstenberg line just to give you an idea.

Now, I know the following comment may not hit the right tune with Taylor Swift fans but neither did she when she performed with Stevie Nicks. Some of my friends made comments that it was painful to watch at times and they were right.

Judge for yourself:

Hint @ 37, 51, 1:11, 1:14, 2:00, 2:09, 2:23, 2:30...

Once maybe but (?!?!?!)

My absolute favorite part of last night's Grammy show was Jeff Beck & Imelda May's Beautiful tribute to Les Paul

Congratulation to all the winners!

i agree the taylor swift performance was awful! Pitchy, flat notes, EEK! :)

Somebody said her notes were so flat, Michael Jackson could have moonwalked on them.... Ouch.

I sort of love Lady Gaga - it's pure theater!

Swedish, had not heard that one!

Some of my friends involved in the music biz have commented on TS's singing in the past but I never paid close attention. They think she is completely overrated and did not deserve the award for album of the year.

I say a studio can do wonders for anybody.

Thanks for dropping by Amanda :)

I missed the show, but I like your review of the fash-ay-o-nays.

I've never thought that Taylor Swift could sing--all twenty three months she's been burning up the charts. That photo of her in glitter glue dress makes her look like she has a bun in the oven.

Nicole looks like she has on empty black boob bags.

Ciara...er I mean Cyborgara...ick.

Britney, honey. Why did you think that you could wear a leotard and then cover up your chubby legs with sheer curtains? Yes. Your butt still looks fat even with the sheers over it.

And who is Katy Perry dating again? Oh right...MY boyfriend.

There. I've outed myself. I have a little thing for Russell Brand. I'd like to say that I can explain, but I can't.

Haha, they pulled my link from the ebay board, can't say I'm surprised.

Holly, thanks for dropping by! I agree that frontal shot of Taylor is not flattering at all, one in USA Today shows a better angle.

Poor Britney, she couldn't even get the shoes right.

About you & Russell Brand who am I to criticize? I cant explain my crush on Senator Patrick Leahy.

Susan, I thought I replied to you, sheesh, old age creeping in?

Pure theater indeed!

I recall seeing a youtube of Ellen interviewing Lady Gaga where Ellen tells her that she often wondered Who wears those outrageous costumes she sees in fashion shows? YOU DO!

I was worried that I was the only one that thought Taylor Swift was flat and pitchy througout her duet with Stevie Nicks. I thought mebbe I was being too picky, considering I felt she stole album of the year from Lady GaGa.

It's funny..."the poor guy" in the red jacket with military braid trim sitting behind GaGa is one of her closest friends - her club days DJ and current producer, Space Cowboy aka Nick Dresti.

I'm pretty sure Space Cowboy was seated behind GaGa on purpose - to prevent someone else from truly being pissed that they had to deal with glitter in their face all night, and to ensure that Nick got in his share of event photos to help promote his career. Hey, any publicity helps, and GaGa is very good about sharing her wide spotlight with her friends.

Plus, behind all the spectacle, she truly has talent. The girl can sing, really sing, and she plays the piano like a concert pianist.

I am going to have to check out Lady Gaga's duet with Aunt Donna. (I heard she did one with Elton. I've always thought Sir Elton looks like he could be someone's Aunt Donna.)

I can't imagine a world without someone as nutso as Lady Gaga in it. I'm not very interested in much of what she does, but I am glad she's around to do it with such individualist style. (Thanks be to Grace Jones for passing the torch!)

Thanks for pointing that out cludiajean, very good to know. I wouldn't have minded the glitter.

A buddy of mine was in town for a meeting and paid me a surprise visit. Later at the meeting someone questioned him about the glitter on his shoe, the surprise was on him :)

That duet with Elton John was very good.

There should always be a Lady Gaga in the arts; music, fashion...raising the bar for the rest.
