In memory of Alexander (Lee) McQueen

16 March 1969 – 11 February 2010

Visionary, artist, showman, staging genius, trend setter of the modern fashion world.

His critics called his work 'dark' I call it Organic, Romantic, Haunting, at times Goth.

Birds - he loved them. Skulls, crossbones, insects, feathers...a celebration of the earth.

Discovered by Isabella Blow he paid homage to her eccentric style after her death in 2007 by sharing the runway with avant-garde head pieces by Philip Treacy in his spring/summer 2008 collection.

Aimee Mullins modeled for McQueen wearing hand carved wooden legs made from solid ash, everyone thought they were boots.
